What does everyone think about Bill Laimbeer leaving his WNBA coaching position? How would you like to see Laimbeer taking over the reigns of the Pistons? I have al

Oliver Perez will stay with the New York Mets after signing a 3 year deal worth $36 million. The deal is a pretty fair one considering Perez was looking for 5 years and $70 million last offseason.

This past Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys traveled to Lincoln Financial Field to play the Philadelphia Eagles in what was a win and you’re in the playoffs game.  This game had a lot of build-up prior kick-off.  The Eagles found out, about 15 minutes before the game started, that the stars had aligned for them; the Bears and Buccaneers had both lost.  This game had everything football fans wanted.  It was the ‘Boys against the Birds, with their playoff destinies on the line.

Each week, on Friday, I will look into my (never wrong, just misinformed) crystal ball and give my predictions for that weekend games.  I will always prognosticate on the Eagles and Cowboys games and then pick two more games of interest (to me, that is, not necessarily to you).  Keep in mind, that this is for entertainment purposes only, and that I do not endorse any sort of legal or illegal gambling.  That being said…let’s see what’s in my crystal ball!

-Thursday November 6th, 2008-

Now that we’re past the halfway point for the 2008 NFL season and based on my current record for picking games against the spread this year (horrendous), I’ve decided to throw caution to the wind and try a new experiment in terms of the strategy I use in making my weekly picks.

Week 8 College Football Preview

Picks: Texas(-6), Kansas(-19), UCONN(+3), Alabama (-13), LSU(-2), Arizona(+2)

Last week: 4-4

Wow that was one crazy week of football we witnessed last weekend.  There were tons of upsets and now with last night lose at TCU we have even fewer number of undefeated teams.  If last weeks games should us anything is that the Big 12 is really good and the SEC might be living off reputation more then actual ability

Last night, we lost another star to the pre-season. Antawn Jamison went down with a knee injury after playing only 4 mins. Which begs the question why do we need a pre-season anyway. Now the Washin

Yesterday, the Eagles lost another heartbreaker to a division foe, the Washington Redskins, 23-17.  The Eagles stand at 2-3 and in 4th (last) place in their division.  They have now lost two division (3 conference) games…and that does not bode well for play-off considerations.  Though it’s still early in the season…the sky may be falling!

So far in this experiment we have one bet open pending tonight outcome of UCONN vs Louv.  We used 10 units on that bet so we are down to 90.

This weekend I would like to see if teasers are really a suckers bet or not.  I feel bookies are really good at what they do.  They usually know exactly where the line should be, thus by getting 6 or 7 points more you are using the handy cappers knowledge against him by giving youself a buffer. I have 3 4 team teasers for Saturday games. Lets see how they do.

Cub fans, please say thank you to any Milwaukee Brewers fans you may know. Their team is struggling just as much as the Cubs right now. It could have been disastrous if Milwaukee would have gone on a winning streak this week as the Cubs were skidding against the Phillies and Astros. The Cubs still have a cushion in the NL Central, but they need to try to get Zambrano and Harden healthy before they make this final playoff push. Don't panic, the Cubs will be fine. They have a solid line-up all the way through the batting order, and even if they are sluggish, they will get enough wins to enter the 08 playoffs. Sorry this post is short and I haven't posted in a while, but I have been working on numerous websites. I will try to put the Cubs blog first from now on, and trust me, I will be much more talkative once these Cubbies get closer to the playoffs.
